Terms of Service
1. Scope and Acceptance
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Pantry’s website, mobile application, and related services.
By using Pantry, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Pantry is a food inventory and household coordination service. Depending on the version of the product you use, the Service may allow you to:
- create and manage pantries and food items;
- track expiry dates and receive notifications;
- share pantries with other users;
- look up products by barcode;
- generate or refine recipes using AI-supported features; and
- access paid or subscription-based features.
Some features may change over time, may be limited to specific platforms, or may only be available in certain regions or product tiers.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pantry, unless a higher minimum age is required by the law of your country.
You must provide accurate information when you create or update an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, one-time sign-in codes, and device access.
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account unless caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.
4. Shared Pantries
When you share a pantry, you make pantry content available to the users you invite or authorize. Shared pantry members may be able to view, edit, or delete pantry content depending on their role.
Only share pantries with people you trust. You are responsible for the decision to invite another user into a pantry you control.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Pantry, such as pantry names, item data, recipes, prompts, and other user-generated content.
You grant Pantry a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display that content only as needed to operate, maintain, improve, secure, and provide the Service to you.
You must have the rights needed to upload or submit the content you provide.
6. AI Features and Third-Party Data
Pantry may use third-party providers to support recipe generation, image recognition, barcode lookup, and subscription management.
AI-generated outputs and third-party product data are provided for convenience only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your needs. You remain responsible for reviewing generated recipes, ingredient suggestions, expiry assumptions, and food-product information before relying on them.
Pantry is not a food safety authority and does not guarantee that food tracked in the Service is safe to consume.
7. Paid Features and Subscriptions
Some Pantry features may require a paid subscription or purchase.
If you purchase through Apple, Google, or another app-store provider, billing, renewals, cancellation, and refunds are generally handled by that platform under its own terms, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
We may use service providers such as RevenueCat to validate and synchronize subscription status.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not use Pantry to:
- violate applicable law;
- infringe the rights of others;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- interfere with the Service, including through malware, abusive automation, or denial-of-service behavior;
- misuse sharing, invitations, messaging, or waitlist features for spam, harassment, or fraud; or
- reverse engineer or misuse the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
9. Service Changes, Availability, and Support
We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, security work, or emergency changes that temporarily affect access.
If a material change negatively affects a paid service, we will provide notice where reasonably practicable and where required by law.
10. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Pantry at any time and may delete your account using available product functionality.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address security risks, illegal activity, fraud, serious abuse, or material breaches of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
11. Intellectual Property
Pantry and its branding, software, design, and other non-user content are owned by Pantry or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.
Subject to the previous paragraph, Pantry is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, or loss of business arising from your use of the Service.
Subject to mandatory law, Pantry’s total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- EUR 100 if you have not made any payment.
13. Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, you have the benefit of any mandatory rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those rights.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the law applicable at the registered seat of the Pantry entity operating the Service, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
If you are a consumer, you may bring claims before the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law, including the courts of your usual place of residence where mandatory law provides that right.
We do not require consumers in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland to resolve disputes by mandatory arbitration.
15. Privacy
Your use of Pantry is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice where required by law.
